I just bought Hoosier Vintage Speedsters. Will be fitted tomorrow so can update after the weekend.

Maybe we should start a tire thread for reference.

Avons were $1680 fitted $1790 with wheel alignment your getting ripped by someone.

        Avons distributed out of Sydney.

They look the goods perhaps a touch bulgy on the front as it is a 7' rim but this is factory spec for both 6 and 7 wheels

Transforms the handling, steering has lightened up to what I remember the RS to be like, ride is more comfortable and the look with more sidewall is back to STD.

        Happy camper all round

Yet to test the grippability though

It is interesting that the Avons are apparently 'unidirectional' although that is not stamped on the tyrewall.

See this discussion that is probably not yet finished on DDK http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/vie...415&start=1035

This thead is well worth reading IMO.

Your concrete is getting a bit grubby there Clyde. Better upgrade to a two pack epoxy floor.

They look good on the Gemini Blue 74 model. My only concern; is there enough overhang over the Fuchs to prevent curb rash, as the cost of refinishing the rims is more than the cost of the tyres.

Oops, you're right - I just checked my quote, same price as you. Even more reason to give the Avons a go

Productive day got rid of whale tail and found an old 69 engine lid in the roof which I installed to keep the dust off while I locate a correct lid.

Also re installed the missing MFI hot air intake box so looking more stock in the engine bay now

Only thing I need to do in there is get the fan and surround re done as they are painted black

Looks good Clyde. That red engine like looks OK in a strange way. Maybe the front hood too?

My research tells me that metallic paint cars (gemini blue) didn't have ducktail or whale tail in 74 hence why the removal of the tail, which is aftermarket anyway.

In my mind the removal instantly cleans up the lines of the car

Now for the decals to return.
