You're probably right. I got overruled when I said the 2.7S was the base engine in another thread - there was apparently one even crappier.

I don't even know why I look in IB threads Get it out of General! :p

It's a mates purchase so I am only 90% excited.
The price will vary greatly depending on exactly what model it was.

I appreciate your comments John. I know nothing about impact bumper cars.
Yes there should be a IB section. You will still read it though no matter where it is.

The AUS spec 911 2.7 'S' was only available in 74/75. Models in 76 for Australia were the 2.7 911, Carrera 3.0 or Turbo. And...probably a couple of the 'left over' MFI 2.7 Carrera's, as Clyde mentioned.

Jim, if you or your friend want to have a look at my 76 for comparison (when you get to that stage) and you're anywhere near Brisbane your more than welcome to come and have a poke around mine.

                  Spot on.

Interestingly there are two 1976 2.7s in Australia on the carreramfi.com register, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're actually LHD cars.

And while we're on the subject, I'm soon to commence the early Aus G-series register (74-77). It's about time somebody stepped up and started tracking info on these often overlooked cars Standby for details via a separate thread....

Now that is on the market for $130K.
I saw it in the flesh and it's a good car, but not that good.

If it gets anywhere near that I'll eat my hat.

(and no, I don't need any smart ar$e posts saying 'you want sauce with that?)

Still no update from the owners. Maybe tomorrow!!!

Scotty, is that yellow car is Brissy? It was believed to have been spotted on the Highway to the Coast.

I saw that yellow car at a well known Porsche place on the northern beaches in Sydney.
I have seen another one around in Brisbane though Jim.
