Nice pick up, congratulations! Yep agreed, awesome colour and your plans sound great. Glad to hear you're back in a flat six. Targa cars are so under rated in my opinion!

I've rarely been more jealous....if someone else has one hiding in dry storage I'd love to hear from them....ha ha

Given all the VW & G series talk I think we should change the name from "901 register" to the "Australian Air-cooled Register" & have subsections for VW, 901 & G series !!

            Cheers

I liked the 901 Forum tag, as it is distinctive for the early cars (65-73) and locally parallels the ESR in some ways. Many of us have other Porsches of course, especially now with appreciation and values creeping up the chain from the 2.7s through the SCs. The PFA seem to have an 'air cooled' section that several of us also frequent.

You guys who started this Forum would have a more informed view than I do. The success of these forums is as much about the qualities of the members, as the cars. One of the reasons for the 901 success, I suspect.

                    Nice find on that mirror

I didn't think cars without tails had the smile up front at all?

                      Craig,
You'll have a lot of fun driving this car. I sold my 74S Targa with sporto box to buy my 356A. It was a great car to drive. Let me know if you need a copy of any of the sporto workshop manual.

Yeah I know re: the mirror, am stoked! :p

Non-tail G series cars have the smile as well

                            Thanks Stewart.

As per Pelican Parts: "this is the rubber strip that runs the width of the car right in front of the hood. Sometimes referred to as the bumper 'smile.' "

I think Clyde might be referring to the chin spoiler, which is only fitted to cars with tails.

Viewed from the front, you could say that the chin spoiler has a bit of a smile as well...

Ha Scott your right, I didn't realise until reading Craigs last post that the smile was not the chin spoiler, I had always thought they were one and the same

Yes no chin spoiler without a rear deck of some sort and no rear deck for metallic coloured cars in 74/75 apparently
