    I Smell a Rat!

So here' a few picks of my new (to me) splitty. Might horrify some of the purists but I kind of like its patina

The previous owner Gaz pulled it out of Tenant Creek about 10 years ago. Its currently running a Subaru engine but Gaz is in the process of removing that and it will go back to VW air-cooled power.

I'm still keen to have an original height splitty with 4wd tyres so eventually I'll probably remove the IRS set up at the rear and lowered front beam and go back to a reduction box trans and stock front beam and see if I like it or not!

With the Comet logo on the rear hatch I'm wondering if it was a Comet Windmills service vehicle….?

    Nice one Cam!
Looks an early one- is it a 1955?

Thanks guys, 1960 vintage. My plan is to put a bit of a camper fit out in to the back of it and add some sound deadening!

It also has bucket seats in the front and I'm going to take it back to a stock bench. You can fit more chicks in that way ;-)

In a way its paint 'work' is the perfect camouflage for the Territory.

Best not to use that as a work car Cam.

                              Awesome bus Cam!
That finish is cool, just needs a clear coat over it to maintain the patina.
                              Well done.
