Although not compulsory, is purchasing the CAMS manual recommended or are there copies in the club that can be borrowed? On the application form 2 manuals are listed one $28 and the other $44 - what's the difference?

At this point you will not need a CAMS manual. The club does have one if you would like to see what it's all about. I think I have it in fact! The manual stipulates the rules for all categories under CAMS jurisdiction. It is more for open racing, rallying and go carts. It is very handy if you want to know which cars fit in what category and what the overall rules for each category are. It also documents such things as roll cage specifications, harness specs etc. There is a whole lot of info in there; even signage size and placement for each category!
The cheaper version is loose leaf; the dearer version is a bound book.
We need to ensure everyone has the required CAMS license in time.
Can we have a show of hands who already has a valid CAMS license for this event and who needs to get one organised ?

I haven't got a CAMS licence, but sent in the application form yesterday. How efficient are they in issuing new licences? It may be a moot point if I don't have a car in time!
CAMS nowadays are fairyl prompt in issuing licences, particularly the lower level ones such as you will all require. Anyone who is going to enter for this event will need a CAMS licence (Andrew that means Toni too if she os going to enter). This is part of the insurance requirement and CAMS will tell you that's where the bulk of your licence fee goes  .
I have sent 2 emails to PCV regarding this event, however I don't think Jeff Thomas is an email kind of guy...I have yet to get a response to my questions of other statutory requirements for this day, which will all depend upon what they call the event on the permit application. I'll get a phone number for Jeff and we can go from there. Marcus, there will definitely not be a requirement for a rollcage.
I'll make sure all the organisational info gets to the committee asap.
