Classic Adelaide FRIDAY NIGHT the 17th Nov DINNER

    All,

I have booked Stanley's Fish Cafe (details below and quite famous in Adelaide - so they tell me, if your big in Adelaide I believe you have made it!!!!) for Friday the 17th of November at 7.00PM for Dinner under my name (Shane Rudd 0411 165 498) for 12 people which at this stage is a very big guestimate.....

    So WHO is in??

    I have so far

    1/ Shane Rudd
2/ Maureen Rooney (AKA Mrs Rudd... but for god sake don't call her that)
    3/ Ryan Curnick
    4/ Simon Winter
    5 Nic Sophios (sp)
    6/ Alex Webster
    7/ Stuart Webster
    8/ Nic taylor
    9/ Brian Tayor
    10/ Andrew Begg
    11 / Scott, Andrews navigator
    12/ Howard (orange 914/6)
    13/ Gary navigator (orange 914/6)
    14/ Justin Reed
    15/ Cam Arnott
16/ Cam Arnott (Bro in law - navigator)

EDITED 6/11/2006 and restaurant RANG today to increase to 16 people, by the way we are inside, too many for an outside table... sorry

But I get the early impression there is still room for more 901ers or others that would like to attend.

Cam Arnott..... were you coming down with a friend / partner
Andrew Begg and Co - Driver ????

Lets go lads/ladies, looking forward to it!!:p :p

    Shane

    Stanley's Fish Cafe
    76 Gouger St, City
    Ph 8410 2457, 8410 0909
    Seafood

Stanley’s has been dishing up seafood for a staggering 45 years. It’s now owned by Michael and Jenny Longbottom, who also operate Manny’s at Norwood.

This is a bright, airy venue, dressed in light green and white, with big windows to watch people parade down Gouger St or you can sit outside at footpath tables.
Its main dining area is a deep rectangle with laminated tables, carpeting, cushioned chairs, ceiling fans, wall-mounted TVs and interesting artworks. Out the back an enclosed split-level courtyard with plenty of greenery is good for private functions or just plain relaxing as celebrity sports-types are known to do.

The daily specials board includes fancier dishes such as chilli crabs and grilled swordfish but the mainstream menu choices are perennial winners. The set menu runs on items such as platters ($49.50 for two), Aussie combos such as whiting and calamari or garfish and prawns, various whole fish and a variety of Moreton Bay bugs.
The lunch specials are winners. Several run around the $12 mark, a good price for a sit-down meal of fresh seafood and they are neither overly fancy nor underdone, just a big feed of good seafood served with a smile in upbeat, casual surrounds.

Hours Lunch Mon-Fri 12.30-2.30pm, Sun from noon; Dinner from 5pm
    Bill E $8.50-$17.90 M $13.90-$30 D $5.50-$8.50
    Cards Major cards, EFTPOS
    Wine BYO corkage $8/bottle
    Chef John Asmiglou
    Owners Jenny, Michael Longbottom
    Seats 180
    Wheelchair access No

there's a bunch of like minded punters heading down there: me and simon, alex and stuart, nic and bryan, howard and gary (orange 914/6), steve webb (running a cayman S) and nav, tiger and scott, cam arnott, plus our crew (2) and i think phil and a few other guys from this board are coming for a looksee.

thanks for getting us all organised mr rudd

Will see if Klaus Bichof and the boys are doing anything that night (they probably are) but they may be late additions to the table if I can convince them to come along.

                      Thanks JR..

                      ALL - Any others?

I was thinking that the earlier we eat the more time we can see the cars and drivers in the street... consensus?

7pm for dinner works for me.....

The cars are usually gone by around 9.15 or so from memory so maybe better viewed before dinner?
