Seafood
Stanley’s has been dishing up seafood for a staggering 45 years. It’s now owned by Michael and Jenny Longbottom, who also operate Manny’s at Norwood.
This is a bright, airy venue, dressed in light green and white, with big windows to watch people parade down Gouger St or you can sit outside at footpath tables.
Its main dining area is a deep rectangle with laminated tables, carpeting, cushioned chairs, ceiling fans, wall-mounted TVs and interesting artworks. Out the back an enclosed split-level courtyard with plenty of greenery is good for private functions or just plain relaxing as celebrity sports-types are known to do.
The daily specials board includes fancier dishes such as chilli crabs and grilled swordfish but the mainstream menu choices are perennial winners. The set menu runs on items such as platters ($49.50 for two), Aussie combos such as whiting and calamari or garfish and prawns, various whole fish and a variety of Moreton Bay bugs.
The lunch specials are winners. Several run around the $12 mark, a good price for a sit-down meal of fresh seafood and they are neither overly fancy nor underdone, just a big feed of good seafood served with a smile in upbeat, casual surrounds.
Hours Lunch Mon-Fri 12.30-2.30pm, Sun from noon; Dinner from 5pm
Bill E $8.50-$17.90 M $13.90-$30 D $5.50-$8.50
