I can't think of a clear coat that will give you the longevity. Not much sticks to a polished surface...

In speaking with them 6months back they sold their equipment to DNA Anodising but they definitely do not do bright anodising.

John, I have spoken to the guys at POR and also a few folk here who have used Glisten PC as clear coat over polished aluminium and they all were most pleased with the outcome.

"Glisten PC is a high gloss, water-clear topcoat designed for spray or brush application over all metal surfaces, including highly polished aluminum and chrome surfaces"

Does anyone do black anodising for the later models (or is just 73?)?

          Cheers

I think I'll try the POR15 over polished metal and see how it turns out. I've got a bit more bare aluminium in the cab and the trunk that will need protection as well.
In my search for Powder Coating options I came across this bloke:

He specialises in automotive and bike stuff. By far the best that I found and a good guy to talk to.

How did this go Paul? I was also told the other day that Lanolin will, if left on the old anodising for a while, improve it significantly. Seems it is compatible with anodising. Seems to work.

Sorry Paul, I'm a bit late to the party on this one. I've used A-grade anodising in Ormeau, for years, on my optical assemblies. It's a small family run business and they will tel you what you can expect to see as a final result.

I'm pretty sure they do do bright (hard?) anodising and I've always found their prices very reasonable. They even do wheels....

                      72E Sporto (still is)

This is is the mob Depulu Wheels use for their anodising work and they do a great job BUT they won't anodise over a weld.

                          Hi Clyde

I though my 73 had black anodising? I am referring to the grill, 911X, and PORSCHE letters on the rear?

                          Cheers
