Wow, the three pair went within 45 minutes of listing and only 30 odd views...
For the boards reference, price inc shipping was $545 USD which comes in at about $605 Aussie... We'll see soon enough if they were a bargain. They almost look too good if you know what I mean?
Incidently a mate up here (Big Bumper driver) just picked up a 72E Targa in NZ for $14,700 NZD (Left hook) on TradeMe.nz. The fun starts having to get it over here now I suppose?John Forcier

Mine arrived today
Damn they are good! It would be hard to tell these apart from originals they are that good. I think the only thing I can pick is the rivet in the back of the bucket is silver in colour rather than the brass colour of the originals.
Also packaged to within an inch of their lives!!
Bloody lovelyCam Arnott

Yep, my lights arrived yesterday also Can't praise the vendor highly enough - excellent packaging and double boxed. I'll defer to Cam's observations on differences between originals and these reproductions - but I am super happy.
I ripped into the project today with a bit of prep and paint... I love working with 2 pack paint.
Wifey was out for the afternoon, so an hour in the oven had me done
I've set a couple of string lines up across the bonnet and will fiddle about until I'm happy. I've reviewed all the info I've been given and gone over the photos a dozen times... I really don't think there was a specific 'factory' location. I like the look of Freeman Thomas' 911 (our cars are cosmetically quite similar), so I'm going to mimic the position he's used.
Tomorrow I get brave and do some drilling...John Forcier

John,
Nice oven work!
Do you mind taking a photo of the complete unit as it sits on the box above, but from below so I can seee how everything goes together.
I have the Cibies Cam got for me but would like to see them complete. I would love to get your measurements after you are brave enough to drill!
Are you placing rubber between the light and the bonnet?
Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim
No worries, I've got some photos saved that were taken by the vendor I'll post now - tell me if you need more.
The rubber gaskets that come with the lights will double up as templates to drill... The lights have a gasket between them and the surface of the bonnet, and there is another gasket between the bonnet and backing plate - so there is no metal on metal contact.Attached FilesJohn Forcier

Okey dokey...
Spent the morning measuring, and measuring, and measuring
Basically I set up the driver side light precisely where I wanted it and then spent the majority of time matching the left side to suit.
The photos should give those of you in the same position a few ideas, but basically I use green painters tape (not very sticky) to create a stencil of the holes I'm happy with and then swing the tape over to the other side ensuring it is precisely on the edge of the opposite side of the bonnet. If done right the holes in the tape are in exactly the right spot - in the opposite location...
It's pouring with rain at the moment, so I haven't take the car out for better photos, but the lights turned out sweeeet and I love the look I haven't begun wiring them up yet - that's a job for a bit later when I set up a relay for the standard lights and high beams.John Forcier

2 pac is fine in the oven if (a) you let it flash dry for 30 minutes, and (b) keep the temperature at no more than 60 degrees centigrade... No smell Oh and most importantly (c) make sure the wife is not present...John Forcier
