I reckon the Kumho's are heaps better in the wet than the DO1J's, which feel like slicks!

as clyde said in an earlier post, the advans held their end of the bargain amazingly well in the wet.

How much better are the Kumhos than the DO1J's? I reckon I'll need a new set by November for CA and have been wondering what to get this time around.
i feel they grip the same or better (i think the quick group s guys found 1-2 secs at every circuit)

i agree with alex in that they seem to come up to temp more quickly and are much less sensitive to pressure than the dunlops. considering tyre pressures on a rally are checked maybe once or twice a day i think they are worth running for that reason alone.

i use dunlops on the 69E and a couple of pounds makes a huge difference to the grip level. really hard to get them right.

          Thanks Ryan

Yes the Dunlops do seem to take a little while to get warm which makes for fun first thing into a special stage!

yep, and then they seem to go off really quickly if you get them too high.

I reckon the Bridgestones don't go off as quick and stay on a lot longer.

              They are RE55S

I have them on my car in both 50's and 60's, however I reckon they are about 1 second slower than the Dunlop's on the track.

Assume you guys are running medium compound in the Kumhos?

I'm running the V70a's as rally tyres, Medium on the front hard on the rear, I think. I still have to check. They were great at Adelaide (including in the wet) last year and I just finished them off on the weekend. Not bad, 1 rally and approx 8 track days! You can tell by the following codes: K20 Soft, K60 Medium and K 90 Hard.

The V700's are for track and they come in medium compound only. NT swears they are 2-4 secs faster than the above. Can't wait until hey are back in stock!

I've run the V700 for the past few years and am a big fan. They are road legal, but only for the time it takes to get one track day in... after that they just look like the V710 and will stand out to Mr Plod.

Hmm, reading the site indicates the V700 aren't legal to drive to track days...
