Hi boys,
Great roads through the Napa Valley - spent a lot of time there over the years, playing golf mainly.
Cars look awesome - esp like the 67S which is fundamentally what my car will look like in race/rally guise with the minilights. No driving lights though on the bonnet - they are pretty popular over there.
I saw the guy with the RHD drive RS, he has a website that I happened to come across one day. He has a red Speedster as well (356). He also has a black lab that looks identical to ours!!!!
So now we have to wonder, how many other 'theroetical purchases' have you guys made since being over there... if you had the cash you would just about buy them all.
A 3.8 Varioram or 3.3 turbo does sound like a lot of fun in a 901... so who is going to make one - Ryan?? Phil?? Dave??
See everyone at the June event in Melbourne
Jeff Smiths 3.8 varioram was undoubtable the "R Gruppe " car of the evnt. It was brutally quick as my neck can attest but very trcatable and in concourse condition. It was unbelievable. The yellow 3.0 Turbo and the Red RSR clone wern't far behind mind you.
The total show was mind boggling less cars than Ventura but the quality!!!
Every night at 1.00am you could still find guys around the cars in the car park talking cars and ideas and drinking a little as well mainly due to Eades genorosity.

So Clyde, are we moving out of the "originality at all costs" phase and in to the customised Pcar hot rod? I reckon that sounds like a fantastic idea.
Is Jeff Smith one and the same as "Schmidt"? Because I reckon that red hot-rodded car of Schmidts that there were pix of on the EarlyS board a few months ago is the sexiest thing on 4 wheels I have seen for a long time.
Are you staring to build up a new project in your head...? I bet you are. I've been having a bit of a daydream about the same sort of thing lately...
Yes thats him!!! and the car is so unbelievable 325 ponies and 295 nm of torque as Phil said it'll pull tree stumps. It was blindingly fast, low 11sec quarter mile is the estimate and I can vouch for its neck snapping capabilities.
gees I would have one of those in a heratbeat but very expensive to build. One guy had slotted a 3 litre turbo staright into a stripped out 72E and it went damm well also at less than half the price of Jeffs.
Paul Ford (new member from Qld) has a 3.3 litre turbo he is backdating to a 73 look. It should go damm well when done.
