Rich, sounds like they might be old tyres and I guess it was a bit wet too ?

from the side on pics, its looks a bit low in the front compared to the rear. Maybe the PO lowered the front a bit ??

Anyway, I am sure you will spend the entire day crawling over the car and washing and polishing it to death.

    have fun !

Sorry all, got slightly distracted - jumped head first into classic motoring... the car won't start! Had to push start it and get it into the garage (and due to a nice hill on the driveway, it's going to need a tow to get out!).

Took my Dad and I a little while to work out the problem, but it seems as though the starter motor is spinning, but not engaging. From the factory manual I think the starter has a solenoid to engage the pinion?

Don't think it is a major problem, might even just need a very light tap with a hammer (presume it is from lack of use more than anything...).

Ah well, a PPI probably wouldn't have picked it up anyway... just one of those things!

Oh, and the mirror (inside) fell of whilst driving...

I still love my car though! Just might take a little longer than planned to get it on the road...

Will post more when I get a chance as I have a few questions!

          Cheers

Mirror sticks on with a special pad that is cheap from Porsche.

              Richard,

My son has other things to do Saturday morning so if you need a ride I can oblige and you get to sit in my new Rallye ST BF Torino seats.

Then I have to swap one back into the RS for Sundays jaunt. Daren't drive the RS on Saturday so its 69S bring your woolies though we have lots of cold air rushing in at all angles due to my demolition of the front trunk area. The RSas has been sold and a deposit paid but reckon I can survive Sunday without a hitch....hopefully!!!!!!
