I can weld (self taught and the 'metal bird' would be proud of his droppings at times), but that PDF they show looks pretty precise.

I can weld too, but mine will be TIG'ed by a pro

Has to be pretty common I would have though on the early SWBs.
Some ongoing interest here but no compelling solutions.
Are you guys aware of any replacement rubber mounts made to go in a 901 transmission mounts beam ? http://www.erikaslist.com/Pictures/912_mount.jpg The replacement parts (Pelican - 2 piece), seen above when not yet installed, are the only part I know that works for an early beam (not 915 style). Installation proved that they are WAY too hard for my car and transmit tons of cockpit vibrations... I'd like to find the real rubber ones, like the ones still on the beam on the photo
This guy used the PP mounts and pressed them on! He was doing an early 912 but they seem the same mount. Shows that it 'can' be done, as Michel suggests
The Rebel Racing OEM style bushings seem best/softer perhaps

OK I am ordering them as well. I can't imagine there is much to be saved in a joint order? Will check freight ...
Rebel Racing show $119 for the two bushes and $114 for the freight! On principle I won't pay that. Did you find anything better Michel?
There are Wevo bushes on PP for far less money but not sure if they will fit the existing cross member?Last edited by Merv; 10-05-14, 08:36 AM.

I got up early and called them in CA. No answer. Called the alternative number and found Jonathan and he immediately sent me a PaPal invoice with freight at $35 rather than $114. All good.
His email is: jonathan@rebelracingproducts.com
