My new ride - 3.2 Carrera

As mentioned in an earlier post, I've ventured into the world of the impact bumper. A 3.2 Carrera wasn't on the list when I started looking to get back into a 911 (originally planned for a rough but original 901 project, or a very sorted 912), but the one I have just secured was too good to pass up. It wasn't advertised so the introduction was via another member.

It's an 85 MY (last of the leaded / before the HP drop), Aus delivered, all matching, books, receipts, tools, all original. Grand Prix white with blue leather. Very 80's...

The car is in great condition apart from the odd stone chip here and there. The interior is very good. Some of the original factory delivery stickers are still on it and I even found a bottle of 1985 Porsche window cleaner in the trunk! Part of the delivery kit I imagine...

    Some pics below.

I quite like the tail delete also. I would love a sunroof delete as well but A. that's being picky and B. I'm not sure how many 3.2's would have been delivered without one anyway. I'm sure someone out there might know.

Love it. A 3.2 with no tail is definitely on my bucket list.

Perfect and beautiful, especially without the tail.
            Lucky you Damian!

Congrats Damien! It looks like we are slowly gaining control... the register might need to consider a name change soon!

                    Nice car Damian!
There's nothing wrong with an impact bumper, having driven one for the first time recently. I'm not quite converted yet, but I do understand and appreciate them. This one looks great!

TYP 901 plus anything remotely Porsche...makes for a long winded name.

We will forgive you Damian as we know you wanted back in but what you paid for that nice looking car would not get you much in the 901 world currently that is for sure

Now when are you starting the backdating?

                        Great car. Congrats.

I know a lot of people prefer the non whale tail for the cleaner look. Personally I preferred the whale tail as I associated this with the period of those cars.

Nice car mate. Probably not for me but I haven't driven one.

You can't beat a factory original car to work on. Everything is where it is supposed to be and no dodgy hands have decided to play Mr Fixit.

Looking forward to a video hearing it growl !!!!

                            Cheers

Well, now that you asked - if you've got a spare set of 901 bumpers, bonnet, guards, trims.............comfort seats...
