10 years ago I had to airfreight an Impreza rally car back to Prodrive in Oxfordshire in the UK

From memory one way - it was about $10K, and that included transport and fees at both ends.....

I assume it would have increased since then, but even then I though the price was quite reasonable given the distance.

I had a boss who had a KTM xbow air frieghted from Germany and I think it cost about 6000 euro. That was about 4 years ago. About the same size as a 901!

$350 cleaning ransom has been paid.... should be delivered today.

Now i get to see if it is a pile of rusty parts or what I think I bought.

Its expensive to air freight, 8 pallets from Europe cost me $11000 recently and that was under 1000kg.

                  912 has arrived

OK 912 is on home soil. Turns out to be much as described. A few things that looked scary to start with but seems to be OK.

Gear shift was very stiff - just the shift link needing adjustment.

Rust on the sills under the plastic stick on trims - turns out to be mainly surface rust.

                  Cracked window screen.

A couple of lights not working etc. which turned out to be simple fixes.

                  Needs new tyres.

                  The good:

Under carriage is rust free and clean (kidney bowls etc. etc. are all sound).

Mechanically seems that most of the work has been done - good breaks suspension etc. all good.

Next steps is a road worthy and club permit - my first 901 actually on the road !!!!

                    Seat belts

One thing I need to sort is seat belts.

The 912 has none - what is the easiest way to add 3 point belts in the front? In the back?

Is it a big welding job or can i bolt in.

What state do you reside in Robin as that will determine laws re seat belt requirements and no welding should be necessary

Looking good Robin. I think the wiper should park on the other side (LHD)?

I think the wipers correctly park opposite to the driver to leave clear unimpeded vision through the windscreen....(factory brochure pic)
