I was living in Greenwich and working in St Pauls... my coffee in the morning would cost me GBP1.90 (and that was back in 2004)... That's about A$4.70! The only place I have paid that is in Airley Beach (QLD), where they were just out to rip the tourists off. Costs seemed pretty constant throughout the UK, it's just what you could earn for where you were... in the North as an accountant it was peanuts, whilst in London I did pretty well (pity I didn't stick around longer than a year).

Lifestyle is certainly better here though... except when you wake up to find it's 3 degrees and there is ice on your car...

And our porsches will last longer here than over there!!!

    Cheers

    Rich

(one day we should get together and have one of those annoying-to-anyone-nearby "where have you been and what was your favourite country" conversations...!!)

Sounds like a plan Rich – to date the most expensive coffee I have bought was in Bebec, a suburb of Istanbul – mind you the street was lined with blinged out Bentlys so I was sort of out of my league to start - seem to remember that it was about $15.00 for 2 coffees. I’ve paid $4.00 in Doncaster, which I found more offensive!

Anyway plenty of time to talk about this after the next drive which hopefully won’t be too far away. Committed to putting the ventilation system back in the car again this weekend and getting back on the road.

        OUCH!!

I think the worst I had was in Lucerne, Switzerland... $22 for 2 G&T's... we REALLY needed a drink!

        Cheers

you guys have obviously never been to Geneva , Switzerland when there is a big exhibition on (like the Geneva Motor Show).

Coffees were A$ 8.00 ea there and that was around 12 years ago.

Dont ask what the lunch for 4 people cost.

Anyway, whats this got to do with the price of fuel ?

All I can think of Phil is that yes fuel may be expensive, but it could be worse?!?

Seriously, with the way fuel is going and the talk of ethanol etc... does anyone want to hazard a guess at what the future holds for our cars?

Well Phil, it's nice to know there's still something more expensive than fuel per litre:p
