Thanks Julian, just saw that too.

Cost of shipping might be high tho.

Well, yes it might, but I've heard stories of $7-9K rebuilds etc, sooooo, maybe $8.5K AUD landed isn't a long way off the money. I got mine put in a plastic tub and I think it was $300-400.

I just received my 911 box in a crate from the west coast, cost $490. Dont forget to factor in customs and other importing fees.

I've fired off a pm to see where he's actually located and will take it from there.

Would rather stick with a 901 in a SWB.

Not knowledgable enough about ratios to know if the current set up is right either, but he did mention it's possible to change that.

And that's all assuming it's been rebuilt correctly ...

Hayden from Wevo built my box, he knows his stuff when it comes to 911/356 gearboxes and helped me a lot through the process of choosing parts for the build. 911 box with AFMSZ ratios, torque bias diff and Wevo side covers. PM me for more info if you want

not much to add though thoroughly enjoyed my rebuilt 911 in my 71, over comparable 915's and greatly enjoyed the G50 in a 964. Also loving the sporto in my 76 it is a hoot.

Costs to rebuild if you had to shop it out for a full rebuild to standard, on a 901 or 915 with LSD, would easily hit 10k and climb from there.

As for different boxes I've heard of people fitting subie boxes in some applications, though may just be rumour.

Something no one has mentioned, is the interesting potential of fitting a clutch pedal to a 4 speed sporto

                    cheers

                        Hi All.

Don't mind me reigniting this old thread.
With all the talk of gearboxes there was no mention of CV differences or axles.
Context of why I'm raising is I purchased a 911/01 gearbox to install into my 66 912 but hadn't realised the CV's and shaft diameters were different.
The box purchased a couple of years ago was freshly rebuilt, has albins gears (901/13 ratios), and a modena lsd, so I'm keen to use with the 2.7 that I will be fitting.

Interested in hearing what people may have done in this instance.

                        Sincere thanks in advance.
