When it comes to slippery slopes, don't try to fight 'em - just go with it and enjoy the ride ....

Pete, that green '66 advertised on car sales at that figure should justify your restoration

For what its worth, i wouldn't have thought twice about buying it sight unseen especially after a successful PPI.

It is a pity as you took reasonable precautions to prevent what eventually happened to you

I have always had me heart in my mouth when buying form Overseas...I know another member also called Peter who paid deposit for a car and he never saw the car or the deposit ever again

I actually saw the car he put the deposit on and he would have been glad to do his $20k as he would have done a whole lot more had he proceeded

Are you past the point of selling and cutting your losses Peter?

What about a combo deal on a plane ticket and a baseball bat?

I've been tempted Clyde, I'll persist with it plus I have plenty of parts on the way. These RHD SWB are rare, with only 250 imported to the UK between 65-68, minus all the ones destroyed over the years due to excessive rust = not many left.

Owner was great to deal with and made an international transaction quite easy, I just don't think he was mechanically minded, he just drove it. Who does need a Baseball bat is the guys that did the PPI.
