I'd sooner pay that price if it was still lhd. I think the conversion has devalued it. What do others think?
just waiting for the arguments to begin on LHD vs RHD vs conversions...
I tend to agree with the likes of Phil/Clyde:
- they came out of the factory LHD
- there is a bigger market for elling LHD cars
- there is no problem registering and driving a LHD car on the road
- the less a car has been messed with the more it is worth?
BUT at the end of the day the market will decide what the car is worth in its current state.
If the said 911S is a left/right conversion it would be interesting know what car those plates were originally registered with. The plates (KGA 911) would have come off a Melbourne/Hamilton delivered 911 (Most likely between 69-71).
And to weigh in on the conversion discussion, I believe if a car is LHD it should stay LHD.
I agree with the whole "keep it original", but quite a few of these earlier cars came into the country at a time RHD was a requirement. I recall there was significant savings over an Aussie delivered car even after conversion costs. The right car for the right price is always worthwhile.
I suppose if a LHD to RHD conversion car became really valuable, a conversion back to LHD could be done...

I'm pretty sure this car used to belong to a club member Craig Bryant I remember him spending lots with Spencer on that motor and remember the car as being pretty good if we are talking about the same machine
