    Hi Clyde
Just had a long chat with Hugh who explained it all. Will keep a close eye on it. (Duttons is opposite my favourite cafe (two birds one stone). Not that i really need an excuse to go to duttons). Hopefully the "issues" will be resolved soon and it goes to a good home.

Phil, I'm still just learning but the condition plus Sporto conversion plus colour that isnt liked by all ... Add it up and previous price seemed crazy and new price still seems optimistic

I had a very good look at it again today. It really is a great car and the "issue", once resolved, which I believe is close to being resolved, can be seen as both a negative and a positive for the car depending on the point of view taken, as so long as all the relevant paperwork is there and stacks up.

It really is a car that should go to a "caretaker" who is not fazed about its history. Indeed in some ways the history makes this car special. Indeed at the right price for a changeover it is one of the few cars I would consider selling mine for - and Clyde and others know that I have always thought that I would never sell mine (and that is probably still the case) . You dont often see a 2.2 with just 43,000 documented miles on it, an extremely detailed history file and looking like a time warp car. It has also had a very extensive examination made of it by a specialist (who may or may not wish to comment on this site) that shows its originality - at least in current guise.

I am hoping that the issue gets resolved satisfactorily very soon and it goes to a very good home. It certainly deserves to.

Also once the issue is resolved I think it would be a great service to both the new owner and the early 911 community for the full history of this car, and the reasons for the "controversy" to be fully disclosed with documentation showing the history and the outcome. There are important lessons for all of us in the story. However I dont think it is in anyones interests to disclose anything else on the "issue" until it is fully resolved.

Sorry for the hijack, Hugh do you know how many of the 7 72 sportos still remain as sportos?
            I know mine is one.

I have information on 4 of the 7 and yours is the only one still a sporto.
