Another price reduction on the CTS 72E, this time down to $94,995.

It's Aussie delivered, matching numbers, original books. But . . .

    -- It's a sporto conversion (which CTS don't mention)
    -- The "Sepia factor"
-- The car is a bit scruffy and tired

New price on the Sepia 73E: $91,995

Tough colour to sell and the car is a bit scrappy too.

If the black targa sold for anything like the asking price this car is a steal!!
Slight typo for you Nick, the car has aged a year

Whoops! In my defense, it's actually a 73 model year car, Sept 72 production date. So 1973E is probably a more accurate description.

Maybe nit picking on my part, but like its twin (my car) it was definitely delivered in Australia in September of 1972 and has the oil filler flap.

Must have been one of the last cars to come off the line with the oil filler flap. It's an interesting mix: oil flap from 72, but black grills, etc from 73

True for engine grill, but horn grills and trim around sidelights/tail light lenses was chrome on the 72, right? The car at CTS seems to have chrome around the rear lights, but black horn grills and black trim around the front lights-- can't be right.

Front, back and plastic black horn grilles and black Porsche script on decklid.

"Original Porsche 911" book by Peter Morgan, states from Aug 72 Horn grilles and rims of Frt/rear lenses change to black.

It is a 72 model year car. The chassis number 9112201004 confirms it, let alone the oil door. The horn grills front and side lights are amongst the various things (like speedo) that are incorrect on this car. Bottom line is that the chassis number does not lie.

A lot of owners opt for the cheaper lenses for front and rear lights as the silver trim lenses are about twice the price (go figure) than the black trimmed ones.

Hugh is right, 72 cars have silver trim lenses, 73 have black trim lenses.

I believe that this is the car that was previously owned by former TYP901 member Prof. Don Esmore who passed away recently after a long battle with cancer. See attached news release.

He came along on our Mornington Peninsula run to Ashcome Maze in 2006 and here are a few shots I took of his car on that run - being admired by Alex Peters (Melb Porsche Centre) in the first photo and Clyde (obscured) in the second.
