Project completed and bike successfully started by Julie at 5:30 pm today.
........well almost completed - needs a new horn, a new rear brake light switch and a new rear view mirror. Barry has loaned me a replacement horn and switch for the roadworthy but will need to purchase a period bar-end mirror.
As the bike was constructed in 1974, we don't need indicators for either roadworthy or registration.
.......and just to prove it, the header pipe has already "blued" and with a few minor carby adjustments it's running just as a Duke 450 should - loud and gutteral.
One step closer to back on the road today - we got the roadworthy cert. last week and today was off to VicRoads for registration. It's now "JG 450".
This weekend we're trailering it (in brand new trailer) to Euroa for the "Show & Shine", one of the biggest car shows in Vic - about 1200 cars and 300-400 bikes.............so we'll see how we go.
Here's a few shots on the new trailer. For the trip I've made up a thick sheepskin which covers the front of the bike. (no rain this weekend - 23°C both days)
Note new period 'bar end' mirror.............and I don't want to hear any derogatory comments re the crash bars. Julie wants them and therefore they stay on!
