E77AFBF0-FD4B-40DB-9D21-881302128241.jpg Here is why restorations take so long and cost so much

Total time taken in taking off car, stripping parts driving these to water blaster and then collecting taking to powder coater and collecting them, time taken wire brushing components and taking to and from platers te assembling and re installing on car just short of 5 hrs and only a total of $35 . As a fellow member points out should be adding in time it took at my hourly rate

Yet to buy cork to make 2 new gaskets add another hour for that.

Regardless, the results look amazing - that's what matters in the end.

A few hours, some brushes, plenty of prepsol, filthy hands and a bunch pf ruined cloths and what you get is a pretty clean and super original backside.

If you have seen this area with your engine out you'll know what a task it is to get it to look like this

Some plating here and there of nuts and bolts, a new handbrake cable strap , some new white covers for the heater cables, the freshly finished heater boxes and tubing and a couple of rubber boots and it will begin to look a lot like new although the intention is not to create a car that cannot be driven hence why I baulked at stripping and painting the underside too.

Made some more progress today slow progress as I wait for parts I need plus plating and painting of suspension components.

The heat gude make the task of refiting the rear indiciator wiring loom a snack but gees those front bushes for the sway bar are a bitch to get in given the relative shortness of the correct bolts.

Not sure from Porsche but the colour is a powder coat colour which I will get for you next week. It is not a perfect match a touch too brown but very close.
