That is a thing of beauty. Great color and the wheels (excuse my french) just give you a hard on.
So is this a happy medium between a Carrera body and a Turbo FWB? Such pretty curves, you have to have posters, T-shirts stickers and other merchandise made up once its finished....

            Curves are ST

Front are genuine 11/72 7" as fitted to RS Carrera but they are finished in RSR style because I love it

Dish looks bigger as there is no black paint like in correct finish.

Rear are 9" also dated 72

Clyde, when you say 'matching numbers', do you mean it is a correct year and first 3 digit engine, or is it a modified 2.5 from the original engine that came with this chassis?

Great news you've got an engine by the way!

I have bought the block that matches the chassis we have used and will be building the motor based on that.

Its correct block and hopefully makes a great 2.5 motor in the end.

I have bought one of the rough castings for the ST grenade oil filter as made by Dave at TRE in the States.

Now comes the task of trying to make it work$$$$$$$$$

                                See castings here

One or two, including David at Tre Motorsport are looking into the re-manufacturing of the magnesium 'grenade' oil filter housing, thought I would post a few detail pictures of one of the problem area's, the actual oil filter. The original here is of the separate disc type, any idea's from filter manufacturers or anybody as to a replacement, or can anybody identify who made the original perhaps. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y256/Mike_Moore/3-5.jpg

See page1 and 2 in thread

Also bought one of his Daves recreated MFI pump braces as fitted to ST and RSR cars, will make the engine build even more authentic looking.

Pics of Flunders great early ST rebuild show both the pump brace and grenade filter
