Looking very respectable after the tidy up... Not sure if I'm a fan of the woodrim wheel... but you certainly got it at the right price...

I've been following the restoration of DB's S with interest.... and plan to discuss my options for the irish green L with John and George...

Paul, you've done a great job.

Maybe you could start a new thread with photos from go to whoa of the project? (if you have them) And a few details about what you have done to the car...Please!

              RSR Project

              Cam,

I'll probably put something together when the car is totally finished.
              The basic story is this:-
The car is based on an 83 930 that I crashed in Classic Adelaide last November. Rather than rebuild it to standard specs I decided to go the 73 RSR route. At the moment it's running a slightly modified turbo engine and gearbox, fiberglass doors, front and rear bars, ducktail and bonnet. I've also upgraded to RSR style coil over suspension.
It used to run mid pack with GT3's in QLD Porsche club sprints, but with about 200 kilos removed and improved suspension, I'm hoping to give the fast guys a scare next year.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like a bit of fun to be had there!

How much do you think it weighs now? Somewhere in the 900's?

                  RSR Project

They weigh 1300 kilos standard. I reckon it will be down around the 1050 mark. Should be fairly entertaining !

Paul - can the car run in tarmac rallies in its new configuration?

                    Comment

                      Ryan,

                      Not with the current engine.
I would like to build a 2.8 and get a 915 box so that I could put that in for the rally stuff.
It's all just a matter of time and money.

                        New daily for Phil

                        Hi guys,

have succumbed to temptation (again) and picked up a nice 993 Carrera for the daily running around. What a great car and so easy to live with. Fabulous engine, not a Varioram but I really coudnt pick the difference when I drove a '97 Carrera S.

Also looked at some 993 twin Turbos but still veryy $$$$$. These cars are holding price and maybe moving up a little.

Thanks to member Darren Sharp for all his knowledgable advice re the 993. Another great benefit of this club - shared knowledge.
