    Hi Mark
Congratulations you must be happy with the outcome. I love the brown leather with pepita description however I note it says comfort equipment and doesnt mention recaro seats.

I note on reading your original post that you had most of the information on the C of A so I supposed the fact that your post is "Australian Delivered" but the certificate is from Porssche North America and doesnt specify country of delivery has me confused.

        Hi Neville
The COA is the first time I was aware that the car came with comfort equipment. I am not sure what this really even implies??
The car is a T so when you say recaro seats would you have expected it to have anything other than the standard seats ?

In terms of delivery, the car is an Australian delivered car as confirmed by Hugh and also Harry in Melbourne. While the certificate came from North America they can supply these for cars delivered to any country as the cars move around so much these days. I don't think I have seen country of delivery specified on any COA.

I think Clyde will know more about the meaning of comfort equipment. The Cof A for my UK delivered car says Sports seats, and has a column : Original delivery date 1972(UK) and it was issued thru Porsche Australia

If you can get a Kardex it will give you even more information and codes. Also there can be errors at times on CoAs that are revealed by the Kardex data.

'Comfort' likely got you the hydro-pneumatic suspension struts and 14" fuchs, especially as it was also a sporto. This package was essentially about urban driving and comfortable cruising as opposed to a back-road weapon.

The loss of this equipment is unlikely to reduce the value of the car. In fact I can't think of anyone who still has the hydro struts...

I agree with Merv, I really don't get the value of the 'COA'. The are often incorrect and are really just a marketing thing for the 'birth certificate' obsessed Americans. Porsche really needs a kick in the @rse for selling off the early Kardex database and not allowing current owners easier access to the remaining records.

This link is 356 specific, however it gives some great info on what a Kardex is and how it differs to the rubbish Porsche issues to make a few extra bucks...

As I understand that somehow the early factory kardexes (up to and including 1969) fell into the hands of someone in the Netherlands... You can get a copy of your kardex for about $300...

Just adding to John's reply (above) -

                            M470 - Comfort equipment

-911S rubber mouldings on bumpers and below doors

                            -Aluminum rocker panels]
                            (from the Pelican site.)

My "COA" from PCA for my sporto also states-

                            474- Sports shockers

Also still fitted to my car are the very nice original aluminium front S brake calipers.

My car is a '72. Don't know if the earlier 470 was different....

                            72E Sporto (still is)

                              BF Torino Rallye ST seats

Thought I should share the excitement of a new set of seats!

BF Torino Rallye ST seats in black vinyl with cloth inserts. Look so good and are just so comfy and cosseting. Really the only option for an ST look car I guess.

They fitted perfectly and took less than an hour to install.

By means of general update for the car, I am still working through the list of works the registration bureaucrats gave me. Painful but part of the process I just have to accept.
