I finished my Yachtmaster earlier this year with a guy who was in the process of buying a 35' cruising cat in the states. He and his wife had both taken extended leave from work, pulled the kids out of school for a year and were going to bring it back themselves over about 8 months. He was convinced he was going to save heaps, even allowing for the GST he'd pay bringing it into the country.

They look great Paul. Reminds me of my Laser 2 when the son was in his teens and it was cool to do things with dad. Only problem was he wanted to be on the trapeze. I have had Lasers for 25 years and did a lot of racing and their simplicity is the key factor. Wildest boat I ever had was a 16 foot skiff. I still have nightmares ...
Back to Phil's thread and that lovely Targa.

Back to the original thread, car is sold pending receipt of payment.
Not a member here yet but certainly a car guy with a considerable collection or various marques including a late model 911.
This buyer understood what he was looking at and the rust free aspect of the car was very appealing plus all the undercarriage work, which made the car exceptionally good to drive.
Car will stay here in Melbourne and will be appreciated and driven.sigpicPhil Lack

If I make the correct assumption based on a phone conversation I had recently, it's the same bloke I bought my '69S from in 1980 (now Clyde's) - and Phil is correct, he does have a significant collection of classic sport, saloon and racing cars (incl a GT3). He's a terrific bloke, extremely knowledgeable in relation to many classic marques and very 'hands on' in undertaking restorations - in my opinion he'd make a valuable TYP901 member to add to the vast wealth of knowledge we have in our club.
If it's not him, then disregard the above diatribe.
Congratulations Phil..........and don't worry about paying me a commissionPeter Williams #049

Peter, yes its the same guy so he already has established the fact he has good taste having owned your 69S. Its a small world for sure and he did also speak with Clyde about his old car. Naturally he regrets having sold it all that time ago.
I hope he joins the club as he is already a member of other clubs and is an enthusiast for sure.
He also owns some Ducatis as well so I guess he gets your nomination as a member.sigpicPhil Lack
