hi Fordy, if I can't be bothered fabricating a new tunnel for a trans ,the best timesaving cheat I have found is to cut the gearbox tunnel from something like an old Datsun / Toyota from the local wreckers. it is a way to acquire something that may be close to the shape that is needed.
Shape shifting can save time and look as though it is a factory pressing, cheers jonni

Rotten, I think you need to start your own thread and show the world what a man with too much time on his hands is capable of doing to a perfectly good 912.

It's been a while since I've had anything to update.
Replated/Repainted front suspension and refurbished steering rack are done.
Hoping to get the car back up to Jason Storey to finish off the painting next week.

Jason's been having some fun doing this for Mike Harris while my car has been getting the 1/2 cage built and chassis mods completed.

                Shiny Suspension

It's all starting to come together. This lot should look good bolted into a freshly painted shell.

The bolt in 1/2 cage is done. Just a few more tweaks and it will be paint time. Still have to find a solution to fixing the hole over the transmission.

                          Where's that 'metal bird"?

Can you fabricate an ally panel to fit over the hole that can be removed?

That's the fall back position Merv.
I'd prefer to get a panel fabricated in steel that looks factory but has the clearance required for the G50 box.
The roll bar guy has now set the std for welding quality for the rest of the build.
