I have lost track of the original purpose for building this car Paul. I seem to recall that a road car was the objective? If so the cage is weight you don't need.

Road registered Hotrod was the longterm objective.
Was going to keep the cage in and just use as a racecar but think now might be a good time to pull it out before we paint.
Will put a bolt in 1/2 cage back in for safety.
Need the panels as there are too many holes from the cage to patch.

That sounds the perfect alternative Paul. Then come join us at the month meet at Kings Beach Caloundra! It will get all the attention.

Thinking I'll have to go carbon "tinware" now to match the filter housings!

Jason is taking to the roll cage with the grinder today.

Does anyone have a recommendation on a really good quality 1/2 cage supplier?

Hopefully when the cage is removed the body shell stays in place. It may try to move around abit, as the cage is probably holding the shell rigid. I guess worst come to worst you can put the shell on a jig to true it up again.

Yes it will be interesting to see how the door gaps look when it's all out.
Also keen to see what it all weighs.

                    Very nice Paul!

Which EMS are you using with them.

                    Cheers,

Why not just remove the front half of the cage and have the Professor clean up the results?

Otherwise, what about a bolt-in cage? The one the Professor is sorting out for my SWB is an AGI and is CAMS approved.

                        Harry,

Running Motec. 1/2 the reason I embarked on this project was the value of the components from the original car.

                        Fishy,

I'm going to do a bolt in 1/2 cage. Leaving the back section in was all too hard for mod plating and rego.

If i cant find a really nice cage off the shelf I'll get one made.

That is a good feeling isn't it Paul.
You have added a few kilos of lightness!
