Should be fine Clyde. I would use some good tape on top and a fine drill first maybe. One of these might be useful:

Can't as you need to follow a template from the top as I couldn't a
100% tell where the letters where previously and there are some lumpy bits of metal underneath where a hole was so drill would slip even more.
Lots of measuring using the lid off the Oxford blue car and I think I did OK, only one minor error which was/is easily fixed
I have never looked at these on any car to see if they were straight or not so just followed the other lidAttached FilesClyde Boyer
