I have not had a lot of spare time over the past 10 weeks with my new business but currently on a 5 day break so the first job was to retrieve the 73E from storage and to fit the newly retrimmed sports seats.

I am very pleased with the look and the colour match to the original dark brown vinyl in the car. Grain is pretty close in style but a little more pronounced but in the car I doubt any one would notice unless they were specifically looking to compare.

Yes I know the frames look old........ I haven't had time to reassemble the restored ones....fortunately ahd a set from a spare seat of seats that I could bolt straight in.

I will get the company and colour code of the vinyl for those who may wish to follow my path it is certainly the best match I have seen to date for this dark vinyl from the 72/73 era.

Haagarn ( spelling probably dodgy) brown carpet for those who are interested.

Quite a difference from the day I got it with drap incorrect black seats both front and rear!!!

Well having seen the car on the last club run and in its storage locker I am happy to say the recaros look smashing. Yes you are a little tardy in presenting the frames in unrestored condition but I am sure it is on your to do list.

and now returning the fuel tank to factory 85 litre that the car was delivered with.

I found one with an 11/72 date perfect for my 1/73 car.

Lets hope it doesn't leak now!!

                Congratulations Clyde.

When you get a chance could you take a really close-up of the paint to show the "bubble heaven" and post it.

and now here it is with a new 380mm RS wheel courtesy of Sean in WA.

Harry has kindly lent me his injector tester and all 6 of mine are working at less than 40% efficiency so I have sent them to the USA for back flushing and cleaning

I was surprised at how bad the fuel flow was not a fine mist spray at all more like an 80 year old with prostate problems.

I re in stalled 6 that were half decent and it felt like I had found some ponies instantly.

I would suggest that anyone with MFI investigate as even I could do it so it cannot be hard.

                            Clyde the commentary enhances it!

was the cdi that failed on the way to Fed Square, or something else? Perhaps a fuel injector?

No Justin definately the CDI, bits of solder rattling around in the CDI indicated it got hot and melted some of it!!!!

Parts Klassic initially waffled on about this and that trying to avoid a warranty claim but in the end they fixed it no charge except for shipping and it is good as gold in that area now
